The opportunity…

We are recruiting for 2 newly created positions with an established UK employer.

These are permanent, full-time positions based in their new offices in Wigan - currently the team are working from home and long term the plan is to be based in the office 3 days per week / and from home 2 days per week.

The role:

The business has an immediate need for 2 Senior Engineers to join the team and have accountability over various Platform engineering and DevOps responsibilities.

The immediate focus will be to migrate from their existing GCP platform over to AWS - this project is already live but still in early stages. This will likely continue as priority number 1 for the next 3 - 6 months. In addition to this there will be other project work e.g. an upcoming platform build, as well as long-term BAU responsibilities working with Devs to build cloud ready apps and support with the infrastructure.

As a Senior Engineer you will also be accountable for training up and mentoring other team members and promoting team development.

Skills & Experience:

• Excellent cloud infrastructure and engineering skills - strong AWS experience is key here
• Previous experience working in high traffic environments and building highly scalable systems
• Infrastructure as Code skills e.g. with CDK stack, Terraform
• Scripting experience - able to write configurations, open to experience with Powershell, Python, Bash etc.
• Strong documentation skills
• Strong communication skills - able to work well with key people across the business
• Coding experience with C#, PHP, JavaScript will be beneficial
