The opportunity…

This company has strong financial backing and is investing significantly in their technical capabilities. Due to successful growth they currently have an opportunity for a Site Reliability Engineer to join their team. They offer a dynamic, fast moving culture, modern city centre offices, and an attractive salary package.

This is a permanent position based in Manchester city centre, easily commutable with tram / train lines nearby.

Your responsibilities will include…

  • As a senior member of the team you will be responsible for guiding others and providing technical direction around platform reliability and operational high performance
  • You'll work closely with development teams to gain an in depth understanding of the platform and identify opportunities for improvement
  • You will ensure applications are built to be robust, and tools and dashboards are available to monitor and alert on metrics
  • You'll also be tasked with keeping up to date with new tech and ensuring others are across this too

What you'll bring to the role…

  • We're looking for someone with strong site reliability / performance engineering experience
  • Experience running applications on virtualised infrastructure and working with orchestration technologies is key for the role.
  • In addition to this, experience with both Windows and Linux servers and operational tools such as Nagios and Splunk is important
  • You will also need solid database skills and experience with a variety of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Programming experience with C# or similar is also important to have
